The Greaves is the perfect choice for both leisure and business visitors and is ideal for family holidays, offering a discount for children. Use of a high chair and cot are both available if required.
There are 4 rooms available including a spacious double and a family room with three beds. All rooms are situated on the ground floor for easy access and are tastefully decorated throughout.
The Greaves has a large and comfortable dining room and Patsy's hearty breakfasts are all made from the finest locally sourced ingredients. Evening meals are available if required and vegetarian and other dietary requirements can also be catered for upon request.
Laxey has plenty of attractions to keep even the most seasoned traveller busy including a heritage trail through the village starting at the world famous Laxey Wheel, The Manx Electric Railway and Snaefell Mountain Railway and the miniature Laxey Mines Steam Railway. There is no shortage of entertainment throughout
the year either, with 'The Big Wheel Blues Festival', Shakespeare in the Valley Gardens and of course The Great Laxey Duck race. There are 6 restaurants and cafés in Laxey and 6 pubs, which also provide meals, so there's no need to go hungry.
At the end of a busy day exploring the Island there can be no better way to relax than by taking a seat in the lounge at the Greaves and watching the sun set over the valley looking up to Glen Roy or toward Snaefell and enjoy a complimentary cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate along with a fresh cake or tasty snack depending on what Patsy has been baking on the day!
The Greaves is a spacious comfortable guest house situated in the charming village of Laxey, home to the world's largest water wheel 'The Lady Isabella'. The Greaves offers a spectacular panoramic view of Laxey Valley Gardens and 'Lady Evelyn' little sister wheel to 'Lady Isabella'.
Laxey is only 10 miles from Douglas the Island's capital and the Greaves is ideally placed on a main bus route, and a two minute walk from the Electric Railway Station. The Manx Electric Railway line runs a regular daily service from Douglas to Ramsey via Laxey.
Private parking is available right outside, and the Greaves is conveniently placed for Laxey's many amenities including: children's playgrounds, football pitches, a skate park and a multi purpose sports court, as well as a beautiful sheltered beach.
